LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE

This is a nested qualification, which means you are able to progress onto a higher level on completion. This certificate will support progression into a range of job roles in the health and social care sector, including:

• care support workers in adult residential settings
• healthcare assistants in community, primary care and acute health environments
• care support workers in domiciliary services, supported living or day services
• community-based support workers.

LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE

This qualification covers a wide range of key subject areas in health and social care. The Extended Diploma includes a wide range of optional units, allowing learners to pursue an interest in the specific areas of social care, health studies and health sciences, while still allowing enough diversity for the optional units to be tailored to suit a learner’s preferred progression path.

LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATE IN INTRODUCTION TO HEALTH, SOCIAL CARE AND CHILDREN'S AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S SETTINGS

This qualification will develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s sectors. It includes the roles played by workers, from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others. There is the option to take units in more specialised areas such as learning disability, sensory loss or mental health

LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE AND CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S SERVICES

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge needed to manage practice and lead others in adult health and social care provision or in children and young people’s services.
It has five pathways - three for adults and two for children and young people:

• Management
• Advanced Practice

LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN ADULT CARE

This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in a lead adult care worker role in care settings. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health and social care procedures. This qualification also aligns to the Apprenticeship Standard for Lead Adult Care Worker.

LEVEL 1 AWARD IN MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

This qualification aims to:

• raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental health difficulties
• dispel some of the myths and misconceptions frequently linked to mental health issues
• develop learners’ knowledge of the rights of those with mental health issues.
